I don't have any plan to send my kids to a camp

Our tent is only $250 a day, gratify send a analyse for the whole week."They will pay their period in front of screens, the TV screen, the machine screen, and the video game screen. We like to call it Screen Time. Instead of three meals a day, we feed them every period daylong with junk food to keep them from being hungry for meals.

"We take your kids and keep them inside every period long. We do not allow them to advise around much.Let's say you conventional a flyer for a newborn summer period tent in the accumulation that contained the mass information:Would you send your kids to this camp? Of course not! What parent in their correct mind would?

What to do

Screen time is not necessarily a bad thing. It's when screen time is the only thing that it becomes a bad thing.

A strategy that has worked in our family and in the families with whom I counsel and coach is this:

For every hour that a kid spends in front of a screen, the kid has to spend an hour outside having fun.

Simple, powerful, it works. Now go use this stuff!

So why do we do it?

So why do we let our kids do this everyday?

If you will indulge a 47 year old guy just one little "when I was young rant" here goes:

When I was a kid, they had to drag me inside for dinner or bedtime.

Many people my age tell me the same thing.

Most of these things do not happen all at once, they just sort of creep up on you.

Nobody's Fault - Kids and Anorexia

Nobody's Fault - Kids and Anorexia

Almost always, no one specific person is to blame when a child suffers anorexia, and neither are the parents as a couple or as a team. Parenting often has nothing to do with it. The implication that up-bringing is most often the cause of (or that at least it acts as a catalyst for) anorexia in kids has been the cause of additional suffering for parents with anorexic children for years. However, they suffer unduly. The reality is that (in most cases) this is an incredibly unfortunate misunderstanding. The most predominant component of the development of anorexia in families (and especially in children) is genetic. This article will provide some examples of different cases throughout the past several years that resulted from this type of genetic disposition and the battle against the severe condition we call anorexia.

Now, it is true that loss of appetite is symptomatic of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, and other conditions. Loss of appetite, nonetheless, can present with no outside cause, but from an underlying genetic pre-existing condition. If there is a history of anorexia in your family, you will not absolutely, without a doubt, develop anorexia as well. The most horrible part for parents with anorexic children was the combination of guilt, as well as watching their child suffer. Now at least the parents can rest easy that the guilt is not theirs, that anorexia is not the result of bad parenting and making the wrong choices. There is no single definitive cause for anorexia, one can only evaluate and speculate. Nonetheless, it is not that much easier to suffer through the experience. After all, the child is still battling anorexia, and the stakes are high.

Kids and Sports - The Power of Positive Mental Attitudes

Kids and Sports - The Power of Positive Mental Attitudes

Most would agree that positive mental attitude has power especially when it comes to kids playing youth sports. It would be very difficult to debate otherwise and I am sure you agree. Youth sports programs must work hard to constantly promote a positive attitude. This can be done through careful coaching and teaching kids respect for the game and integrity on the field.

Still, but there is truly no greater feeling than winning after you have worked hard to get there and played your heart out. Just ask the late Vince Lombardi, as it builds character to win, when you deserve it or if you lose but gave it every last ounce of your existence. This also develops a positive mental attitude that is re-enforced through the team and coach.

One gentleman that wishes to bring these great attitudes to youth sports is Charles Hellman, Founder of LuckySports. I believe this is noble: "LuckySports believes that youth sports should recognize a good coach and parental positive attitude and promote it until it becomes the industry standard for youth sports." and worthy. It's a great simple mission statement in and of itself, even without all the other lessons in his works.
